JPDA engaged to update DavidsTea retail experience and design the brand's first US stores.

Upstart Canadian retailer DavidsTea has selected JPDA to update the design of their branded Tea shops. JPDA will be examining all aspects of the retail experience, including store and fixture design, shopability, and architectural branding.

With an existing footprint of 75 stores across Canada, DavidsTea offers a unique full-service retail experience for exploring, tasting and purchasing high quality tea.

JPDA will introduce the brand to the US via two New York stores scheduled to open this fall.

We've just been hired by Reliance Communications to develop an exciting brand experience project to be rolled out to their network of stores across India. Reliance is the central holding of the Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group, and has over 100 million subscribers.

JPDA Wins AIA Small Projects Award 2010!

JPDA has won the AIA Small Projects Award 2010 for the East Village Studio renovation! The award is granted based on excellence in design, innovation and technical advacements during the design process. We're extremely excited that ours was one of roughly ten entries granted this distinction, nationwide. The project will be featured at the AIA Convention, held June 10-12th in Miami.

 

JPDA's Boerum Hill House Featured in the New York Daily News

JPDA's Boerum Hill House was one of three projects selected for the Daily News' "Your Home" feature on New York architects and their homes.  The article, which compares some elements of the home to "works of art" can be found on the Daily News website, or downloaded using the link to the right of this article.  Make sure to also check out this project in Diana Lind's book, "Brooklyn Modern." 

 

JPDA Featured in AIA's "New York Now" Exhibition

JPDA is being featured in AIA New York's annual "New York Now" exhibition.  The show, which is on display in the West 3rd St. end of the W.4th street MTA station, features some of New York's most influential contemporary architectural projects.  Until October 30th, you can stop by and check out our recently completed "East Village Studio."  If you have any questions about this project, or any of our other work, let us know and we'll send you one of our newly-printed brochures.

 

JPDA Participates in NYCDOT's Urban Shed Competition

JPDA has recently taken part in the international "urbanSHED" design competition.  The competition, which received over 270 applicants, asks participants to develop a scheme for an innovative construction shed for the NYC.  JPDA's sustainably-designed "Butterfly Wing" scheme emphasized enhanced signage, additional greenspace, and a brighter, less congested pedestrian experience.
