JPDA's Stamford Beacons interactive lighting project has been shortlisted for installation by the City of Stamford.

Stamford Beacons, an interactive lighting project designed in collaboration with MOEY INC., has been shortlisted for selection by the City of Stamford.

The project activates the Stamford Transportation Center's existing truss structure with interactive LED lighting. The piece functions as a dynamic digitally controlled lighting installation, reflecting the ever-changing dynamism and creative vibrancy of the city.

The installation is intended as a first phase in an expansive network of site-specific informational signage and interactive displays, creating pathways and destinations throughout Stamford.

Mocha Modern Design and Living blog is featuring JPDA's East Village Studio project under the title "Small Spaces: A Small Apartment with Space for Everything."

The article praises the finished project as "an airy, calm and organised space with masses of clever storage solutions."

The writer goes on to say "It’s hard to believe that it is less than 500 square feet in size; but it shows just how much you can do with small spaces, with some clever design and planning."

The September 30th, 2011 issue of the Financial Times features JPDA's East Village Studio in an article entitled "The big squeeze" about the clever use of space in residential projects.

Author Richard Warren holds up the project as an example of how "architects in the Big Apple are designing better, smaller homes."

 

JPDA engaged to update DavidsTea retail experience and design the brand's first US stores.

Upstart Canadian retailer DavidsTea has selected JPDA to update the design of their branded Tea shops. JPDA will be examining all aspects of the retail experience, including store and fixture design, shopability, and architectural branding.

With an existing footprint of 75 stores across Canada, DavidsTea offers a unique full-service retail experience for exploring, tasting and purchasing high quality tea.

JPDA will introduce the brand to the US via two New York stores scheduled to open this fall.
