New York Magazine & Dwell feature JPDA's Boerum Hill House in City Modern, Collaborative Special Issue

Check the newsstand this week for a special supplement put together jointly by New York Magazine and Dwell (and bundled with both) called City Modern. The issue, puublished in anticipation of AIA NY's Archtober events, features JPDA's Boerum Hill House. If you'd like to see the house first-hand, book your tickets now for the a tour on October 7. The house will be open to visitors as part of City Modern Home Tours (also organized by Dwell and New York Mag).

JPDA interviewed in response to NYC's contest to design Micro-Unit apartment buildings

JPDA was interviewed yesterday for a short piece on the city-sponsored competition to design an apartment building of 'micro-units'. Given our history of micro-engineering the smallest of spaces, the micro-unit proposal seems perfectly feasible and reasonable to us. You can bet we'll be involved in the competition, wish us luck and stay tuned for details.


JPDA's Stamford Beacons interactive lighting project has been shortlisted for installation by the City of Stamford.

Stamford Beacons, an interactive lighting project designed in collaboration with MOEY INC., has been shortlisted for selection by the City of Stamford.

The project activates the Stamford Transportation Center's existing truss structure with interactive LED lighting. The piece functions as a dynamic digitally controlled lighting installation, reflecting the ever-changing dynamism and creative vibrancy of the city.

The installation is intended as a first phase in an expansive network of site-specific informational signage and interactive displays, creating pathways and destinations throughout Stamford.

Mocha Modern Design and Living blog is featuring JPDA's East Village Studio project under the title "Small Spaces: A Small Apartment with Space for Everything."

The article praises the finished project as "an airy, calm and organised space with masses of clever storage solutions."
